Helping maintain, The Gnome Seed, the Javascript Desktop Library
Javascript on the desktop is one of those things that I believe will become more and more common, I help look after gnome seed (bugzilla and commiting changes).
Along with this have a look at the gobject introspection generated documentation which can be used to rapidly build gtk/gnome desktop applications.
